HUDSON’S FURNITURE PARTICIPATES IN 2ND ANNUAL FLAGLER
FUN COAST BED RACE, DONATES WINNING BED
On October 2, Hudson’s Furniture won the 2nd Annual Flagler Fun Coast Bed Race and donated the winning bed to a local charity. This event, a quickly-growing local activity in Flagler Beach, was created to inspire community involvement and benefit children and youth programs in Flagler County. This collaboration between Hudson’s Furniture, Flagler Volunteer Services, Kiwanis Club of Flagler County, Flagler Beach Rotary Club, the City of Flagler Beach, and Flagler Beach CRA consisted of a preview party Friday at 5:00 p.m., a parade on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and the race at 4:00 p.m.
The 13 participating teams built their own custom bed and decorated it based on a theme of their choice. The elaborate bed designs, including a pirate bed by Hudson’s Furniture, a VW Bus by Snack Jacks Restaurant and a Flintstones Bedrock bed by Home Helpers, were judged and awarded based on beauty, creativity and decorative humor in addition to the trophy awarded to the race-winning team. Participants were not the only ones who walked away with prizes. Attendees registered for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to Blue Restaurant and Bob Evans. In addition, a local Flagler County charity received a brand new Broyhill bed from Hudson’s Furniture. “We were thrilled to be a part of the Flagler Fun Coast Bed Race this year,” said Josh Hudson of Hudson’s Furniture. “I can’t believe we had the winning time, but the best part is that the new bed will make a difference in the life of a needy child in Flagler County. We’ll definitely see you next year!”
